ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE JEWELLERY
FAQS
-
Do you offer sizing? We will indicate if a ring can be sized in the item description. Whilst we do have a jeweller that we work with, we always recommend that you get a ring sized locally to you. If you wish to have links removed from a chain or any other alterations, we also recommend you to get this done locally. If you wish to enquire about sizing / alterations through our jeweller, there will be an associated charge and an estimated 3-4 week lead time. Please get in touch to ask for a quote from our jeweller before placing an order. Please note that if a ring or any other item has been sized / altered, either by us or a third party, it has been customised so therefore is non returnable. Please also note in our T&C's, we cannot be held responsible if a jeweller, including but not limited to, damages a ring or says it cannot be sized.
-
Do you offer layaway? You are able to select PayPal Pay in 3 for your purchase, further details on this can be found on PayPal’s website. For other questions on layaway, please contact us on Instagram.
-
Do you offer a repair service? We do not offer a repairs service as standard and any cost associated is the responsibility of the customer. Please get in contact if you require help.
-
Who pays for customs taxes? It is your responsibility as a buyer to pay for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We cannot tell you what the associated charges might be, it is the customers responsibility to check if you are unsure. We are also not responsible for delays due to customs. If for any reason an item / items are returned to us due to local customs / taxes not being paid by the customer, any associated fees are the customers liability. We have a legal duty to accurately declare items and it also invalidates the insurance if we do not do so. We always correctly declare the value of items for customs and the taric / HS code for antique / vintage items where appropriate. We will never send items marked as gifts or declared as an incorrect value, please do not ask.
-
Do you run sales or offer discounts? We do not routinely run sales or offer discounts. Please keep an eye on our Instagram for any announcements and sign up to our subscriber email for exclusive offers. Please note that for items on offer and / or on sale (i.e. not full price), they are not eligible to be returned from customers outside of the UK. Please see our returns policy for further information.
-
Do you offer an email subscription? We do! You can sign up to our exclusive subscriber list on our website. You'll get early notification of new products, exclusive discounts and offers and first look at our annual sale. Fear not, you will not get bombarded with emails, there will be 4-5 a month max!
-
Do you hold items for customers? We do not offer the opportunity for items to be held, they are available on a first come, first served basis.
-
How is my order packaged? We take great care packaging our items in recycled cardboard boxes, with additional protection. Please note, any boxes / props in stock photos are not what you will receive your order in, they are for display purposes only.
-
Do you offer a sourcing service?Absolutely, if there is something you have on your wish list that you would like our help in finding, please get in contact on our Instagram or by email.
-
Do you still accept orders through Instagram? No, orders are to be placed through the website, rather than through DM on Instagram. There will be occasions where there are 'Instagram Exclusives' but we will always take payment through the website for these pieces by adding a bespoke listing for you.

How do I look after my antique item?Antique jewellery, by definition, can be hundreds of years old and as such, needs to be treated with care. We carefully inspect all items that we sell here at PARAT. We would encourage you to treat your items with that same care. This includes not exposing them to any lotions / perfumes you may put on your skin, wearing during exercising and other activties, and cleaning pieces in the correct manner. Please not that soft stones like pearls, turquoise and others need a different cleaning method than stones like diamonds or plain gold pieces. If you have a closed back piece, you should not get it wet as this will likely cause damage to the piece. This is by no means an exhaustive list on how to care for your jewellery, it's the basics. If you have any further questions please get in touch and we will do our best to help.
